Overview
The Leybold ECODRY 40 plus is a compact, quiet and completely oil-free eight-stage Roots vacuum pump designed for clean laboratory, analytical and research applications where reliable dry vacuum and low contamination are critical.
Delivering up to 40 m³/h of pumping speed and achieving an ultimate pressure below 0.03 mbar, the ECODRY 40 plus provides excellent medium-vacuum performance in a clean and compact package. The 120 V, 50/60 Hz, single-phase configuration is particularly convenient for North American laboratories, research facilities and OEM equipment manufacturers because it can operate from standard laboratory power without requiring a three-phase electrical supply.
The ECODRY 40 plus uses dry multistage Roots compression with no vacuum oil in the pumping chamber, eliminating routine vacuum-oil changes and reducing the risk of hydrocarbon contamination reaching sensitive vacuum equipment. PFPE lubrication is used for the bearings and gears, while an integrated electronic drive and air cooling simplify installation and operation.
With a noise level below 52 dB(A), the ECODRY 40 plus is particularly well suited to laboratory environments where pump noise can interfere with research or analytical work. Its DN25 ISO-KF inlet, DN16 ISO-KF exhaust and approximately 43 kg weight make it straightforward to integrate into research vacuum systems and OEM equipment.
Typical applications include turbomolecular-pump backing, electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, surface analysis, XPS, AES, SIMS, UHV research systems and other analytical or scientific equipment requiring clean, oil-free backing vacuum.
The 120 V ECODRY 40 plus is an excellent choice when a laboratory needs more pumping capacity than a small ECODRY 25 or 35 but wants to retain the convenience, cleanliness and quiet operation of the ECODRY platform.
The ECODRY 40 plus delivers 40 m³/h of clean, oil-free medium vacuum from standard 120 V power, making it an ideal quiet backing pump for modern laboratory and analytical vacuum systems.
