The Leybold DIVAC® 4.8 VT is a compact, dry-running diaphragm vacuum pump designed for clean laboratory vacuum systems and turbomolecular-pump backing applications where oil contamination cannot be tolerated.

Delivering approximately 4.8 m³/h (2.83 CFM) of pumping speed with an ultimate pressure of 2 mbar, the DIVAC 4.8 VT provides significantly higher pumping performance than smaller laboratory diaphragm pumps while maintaining a compact 18 kg package. Its dry diaphragm compression eliminates oil and hydrocarbons from the pumped-gas path, making it an excellent alternative to small oil-sealed rotary-vane pumps in clean vacuum applications.

The 4.8 VT is specifically matched by Leybold to turbomolecular pumps from SL 80 through TURBOVAC 450i, making it an excellent forepump for analytical instruments, research vacuum systems, electron microscopy, surface analysis and other clean high-vacuum applications.

Its 230 V single-phase, 50 Hz electrical configuration, DN16 ISO-KF inlet, integrated exhaust silencer, 55 dB(A) operating noise and IP54 protection make it simple to integrate into a laboratory environment. The VT design also incorporates structured diaphragms and dynamic mass balancing to provide good performance with low vibration.

For customers currently using an oil-sealed pump for turbo backing or laboratory vacuum, the DIVAC 4.8 VT offers a cleaner solution with no vacuum-oil changes, no oil backstreaming into the pumped-gas path and minimal routine maintenance.
