The Leybold NOVADRY ND 160 is a high-capacity, 100% oil-free dry screw vacuum pump specifically designed for demanding food processing and packaging applications where moisture, process contamination and vacuum-oil contamination can create costly maintenance and production problems.

Delivering up to 138 m³/h of pumping speed with an ultimate pressure of 0.1 mbar, the ND 160 provides fast, consistent vacuum performance for high-cycle production equipment. The 230/460 V, 60 Hz, three-phase configuration uses a 3.0 kW motor and air cooling, eliminating vacuum oil from the compression process and reducing the maintenance associated with conventional oil-sealed vacuum pumps.

The NOVADRY is engineered specifically for the realities of food production. Its robust dry-screw design and self-draining construction allow it to handle water vapour, droplets, organic acids and particles that can severely affect conventional oil-sealed pumps. With a water-vapour capacity of approximately 5.2 kg/h with gas ballast, the ND 160 is particularly well suited to wet food-processing applications.

Typical applications include vacuum tumbling, thermoforming, vacuum packaging, food stuffers, meat processing and other high-cycle food-production equipment where reliable vacuum and product cleanliness are critical.

By eliminating vacuum oil, the NOVADRY ND 160 removes the need for routine oil changes and oil disposal while eliminating the risk of oil backstreaming into the process. Its air-cooled design, reduced maintenance requirements and robust construction help lower total cost of ownership while improving production uptime.

The ND 160 is an ideal choice when an application requires more pumping capacity than the NOVADRY ND 100 but does not require the full capacity of the ND 200.
